More about Tom, from Martinborough Vineyard:
Originally from North Canterbury, Tom’s interest in wine took hold when his family planted a small vineyard. Since 2012 he has worked across renowned wine regions in France, Australia, United States, South America and New Zealand. A graduate of Lincoln University with distinction in a diploma of Oenology and Viticulture, Tom joined the Martinborough Vineyard team in 2024.
Martinborough Vineyard's approach is very much focused on getting it right in the vineyard. That’s where the hard work is done. Their philosophy is very much hands off winemaking. But ironically enough to do that, they get their hands very dirty.
They hand pick the grapes to ensure the best fruit makes it to the bottle. From there, the winemaking focuses on Burgundian techniques which have produced some of the world’s most complex and delicate red wine for centuries.
